Eyal I am a postdoc researcher at the Network Institute at the VU Amsterdam, dividing my time between Frank van Harmelen's KRR group in the AI department and the group of Jan Kleinnijenhuis at the Social Sciences department. I have done my PhD with Stefan Decker at the DERI institute in the National University of Ireland, Galway. I'm currently working on semantic analysis of political news texts, as explained in a recent poster.

In the past, I have worked in the m3pe project on workflow interoperability, in the Nepomuk project on the semantic desktop, and in the Líon project on semantic infrastructure. Before that, I have worked on semantic web services, workflow interoperability and business processes, and I have been active in the WSMO, WSML and WSMX working groups for semantic web service standards.

I have developed SemperWiki, a semantic personal Wiki that focuses on usability and gratification, ActiveRDF, a library that makes RDF data accessible as programming objects, and BrowseRDF, a domain-independent faceted browser for arbitrary RDF data. ActiveRDF and BrowseRDF integrate with Ruby on Rails, and together they offer a nice environment for developing semantic web applications. I have co-founded and created Sindice.com, a lookup service for Semantic Web resources.

See my CV for more information or have a look at my publications. You might also enjoy two video interviews with me, one on the Semantic Web in general (over 5.000 views) and a shorter one on tagging and the Semantic Web. I recently gave a joint TechTalk at Google which you might like, even though the first ten minutes are cut off because of sound problems. You can also listen to an hour-long interview with me by Paul Miller from Talis.
